Abundant Peace, Joy and Love in This Time between the Years
Driving to St. Louis’s annual World Peace Day this morning at 5:30 am I realized–I forgot to post yesterday!
So first, I apologize for not fulfilling my promise to post each day until January 6.
I had a wonderful, full day yesterday: a leisurely Christmas lunch with an old friend; grocery shopping for my little new year’s party while getting excited about good food and good company; picking out a little gift for my uncle, who just took an early retirement and is feeling expansive and joyful about the next phase of his life; and attending a party for my cousin’s son, where I was able to catch up with many members of my beloved extended family.
So I wasn’t around my computer all day and I just plain forgot! Time to seek forgiveness from you and give thanks for this nice little reminder of my imperfections.
My message for you today is this:
Swim in the abundance of God.
My husband and I and a couple hundred other fortunate souls were immersed in song and prayer this morning at St. Louis’s annual World Peace Day service. What a gift!
After a “practicing the presence” meditation by Jeanne Breeze, we were serenaded by lovely voices, singing to each one of us as the voice of God and the angels. The exact words did not stay in my mind, but the essence of the chant was this: You are Love, You are Light, You Are Golden, You are Beautiful, You are Life.
We also experienced exquisite voice of Margaret Waddell singing chants composed by 12th Century Benedicting Nun Hildegard of Bingen. Hildegard gifted the world with her ecstatic experiences of Divine Union, as evidenced in the Caritas Abundat chant:
Loving tenderness abounds for all
from the darkest
to the most eminent one beyond the stars,
The abundance of the Divine is truly infinite and available to all of us, in every moment. My wish for you this year is that you remember, more often than not, to step into that flow of abundance, joy, peace and love. It is your birthright.
For you, may this coming year be one of planning less and being more. More of who you truly are.
Feeling abundant joy as I hold you in my heart,
Kimberly Schneider
