You CAN go home again…
Happy Summer!
Tomorrow is the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere, and it is also the day I am leaving to go to Ireland. I’ll be spending a week exploring ancient places of power and sacred sites with a small group of spiritual adventurers, and then doing some traveling with my Mom. I’m so excited, because I’ll be reconnecting with some very special people over there, and also immersing myself in wind, sea and sky, poetry, music and place. Ireland feels like home to me.
One of the most important things I learned about myself happened as a result of my first trip to Ireland, where I experienced a deep sense of rightness and belonging. The true awakening happened, however, after I returned to the States. Back in St. Louis I realized that the feeling of “home” I felt in the Emerald Isle was something I carried inside of myself–and I didn’t need to be any particular place to find it again.
The old adage “you can’t go home again” may be true if by “home” you mean a particular place in time, supported by specific people and events. If, however, HOME is the home of your soul, then you are carrying it inside of you where ever you go, and it’s up to you to determine how to reconnect with That so you can embody it day to day.
I’ll look forward to reconnecting with you in July!
In the meantime, may the Light that flourishes at the height of summer enliven your heart and mind.
May you dance with life’s questions.
And may you find your Home, wherever you are.
Abundant Blessings,

Kim, looking forward to your post about this trip to Ireland. This one is like a teaser and I can already imagine how nostalgic and “rebalancing” your trip will be / would have been. Stay blessed.

Thank you Alex! I am still in re-entry mode but you can bet I will post about it when I can bring myself to sit in front of the computer for a stretch of time! It WAS magnificent and I’m already making plans for going back. Many Blessings, kimberly
